The University of Melbourne Indigenous Employment Framework (IEF) is the key driver for the advancement of Indigenous staff recruitment and retention across the University.
Melbourne Indigenous Professional Employment Program
The Melbourne Indigenous Professional Employment Program (MIPEP), introduced in 2013 providing a two-year, fixed term, entry-level positions to Indigenous Australians. This program contributes capable and qualified staff to the workforce and makes a significant contribution to the overall employment targets for the University.
2021 MIPEP Expression of Interest - Positions
The University are currently seeking support from hiring areas for the 2021 MIPEP cohort placements. Are you interested in supporting Indigenous Employment? Does your team have the capacity to support a MIPEP participant? For further information on what is involved please read the 2021 MIPEP Brochure.

Indigenous Staff Network
The Indigenous Staff Network (ISN) is a formal network established to support the effective implementation of The University of Melbourne's Indigenous Employment Framework 2018-2021 by developing and implementing strategies to promote Indigenous staff retention and cultural support.
Indigenous Staff Network Steering Committee
The Indigenous Staff Network Steering Committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining a networking platform that connects academic and professional Indigenous staff at all levels across The University of Melbourne. It overseas and leads professional development and networking events aimed at upskilling, informing and connecting all Indigenous staff.
