You can choose to live near or on the Parkville campus in one of the University's student accomodation options.
There are three University-affiliated accommodation options:
- University Accommodation: University Accommodation offer an independent lifestyle with fully self-contained studio apartments or shared apartments with communal amenities.
- University Residential Colleges and Affiliated Residential Colleges: University Residential Colleges and Affiliated Residential Colleges offer an immersive campus lifestyle with academic support, prepared meals and a range of activities.
- Partner Accommodation: The University has collaborated with nationally recognised student accommodation providers to create more accommodation options around the Parkville campus.
There are differences between the accommodation options at the University of Melbourne including:
- How many other students might live at the same accommodation.
- What inclusions the accommodation option provides such as meals or social activities.
- Cost. There are fees associated with living in a University-affiliated accommodation that you need to consider.
To help you decide which is the best fit for you, take some time to research your options and consider booking an in-person or virtual tour with the options that interest you.
If you want to live in an external student accommodation provider such as Journal, Urbanest or Scape, or in private housing such as a share house or by yourself, you will need to research these options independently. It is important to understand the options that are best suited to your circumstances.
