Careers and Employment

Murrup Barak's key objective is to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples studying or considering study at the University of Melbourne. As part of this, we support students when they undertake additional work whilst studying including promoting opportunities from organisations and employers.

Please read this page carefully if you are seeking to promote a program, job opportunity, or work experience to our current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student cohort.

Looking to promote an opportunity?

We receive a high volume of requests to promote programs and job opportunities to our students. We first ask you to consider the relevancy of your opportunity to our student cohort i.e., does the opportunity relate to a study or research area of the University? Our aim is to provide students with worthwhile opportunities so checking if your opportunity aligns with what students are studying can help with your recruitment process.

Check out this useful student employment page that includes information for recruiters.

If you are looking to promote your opportunity, we invite you to utilise CareersOnline. Once your opportunity has been listed on CareersOnline, contact our Student Success team with a link to your listing. We will include the link to your opportunity in our student communications.

CareersOnline

CareersOnline is the University of Melbourne's official online careers resource where you can advertise your organisation’s employment and work experience opportunities. This is your best chance of quickly advertising your opportunity, connecting you to a wide network of students, recent graduates and alumni. We recommend that you consider utilising CareersOnline to promote your opportunity.

The University also has dedicated careers services for students and information about recruiting talent.
